IHU has been established in Tehran since 1986 and has 150 MSc degree programs and 50 Ph.D. degree programs in the fields of basic sciences, technical sciences, engineering and humanities. The university currently has 450 faculty members in the ranks of professors, associate professors and assistant professors, and has 4500 students at MSc and Ph.D. levels.

This university is in charge of educating managers and highly specialized experts in Iran and other countries of the world and compiles the texts and contents of its courses and subjects based on Islamic, revolutionary and evolutionary principles.
